This painstakingly detailed oil painting captures a closeup of the rebeliious structure of a flower. Anything but uniform, it’s also far from random. Theres order in the chaos, weight balance so it doesn’t tip over, imperfectly balanced distribution and size of petals, all slightly different colours in the same palette. The painting style mirrors the painstaking effort taken by the to grow into such an intricate shape, which can easily be crushed and will soon fall apart. At the risk of sounding like a Manchester cliche, true perfection has to be imperfect.
